World Breast Feeding Week
In our prestigious Institute Swamy Vivekananda Medical College Hospital and Research Institute we have celebrated the World Breast feeding Week from August 1st to August 7th in accordance With the international guidelines provided by World alliance for Breast Feeding auction (WABA).Under the theme" Step up for Breast Feeding" "Educate and Support" various programmers were organized as shown below
- August 2nd - Breast feeding awareness campaign, done by Dr.Suryaprakash, MD., Senior Resident Department of Pediatrics
- August 3rd - Practical Demo on Breast feeding practices, done by Dr.Prasanna Balaji., DCH Senior Resident Department of Pediatrics
- August 4th - Poster painting competition for students
- August 5th - Valedictory Function for week celebration
We being a baby friendly hospital this week of celebration and health education is very pivotal to spread awareness among the public and our health care works. The celebration was done in a commendable way with the guidance from our respected Medical Director Dr.K.Prakasam,M.S(ortho).,D.Ortho., D.sc(hons) and Support from our Dean Prof Dr. A. Edwin Joe, MD., BL.,
In view with the WABA guidance we promise that our campaign to promote breastfeeding won’t end in this week and will continue forever
