Medical Education Unit MEU of Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital and Research Institute SVMCHRI has organized a three day Basic Course in Medical Education BCME on medical education technologies and Attitute, Ethics & Communication AETCOM from 1st to 3rd April 2024, under the aegis of National Medical Commission NMC Regional Centre Madurai Medical College, Madurai. Dr. Shanthakumari Sivanandam, Professor and Head, Department of Pathology and Medical Education Unit Coordinator from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research PSGIMSR was NMC observer for the BCME Faculty Development Program. 30 faculty members from different discipline underwent training regarding the Competency Based Medical Education CBME curriculum by NMC.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by Dr. Shanthakumari Sivanandam NMC observer), Dr.K.Prakasam Medical Director, SVMCHRI, Dr.S. Balasubramanian Dean, SVMCHRI, Dr Somasundaram RAMO, SVMCHRI and Dr.P. Sasikala MEU coordinator, SVMCHRI and resource faculties for workshop. All the interesting and interacting training sessions were conducted by MEU resource faculties including Dr.P.Sasikala, Dr. K.Muthukumar, Dr.K.Udhaya, Dr.A.Sivaraman, Dr.C.Sujeetha, Dr.N.E.Nandhini, Dr.S.Kavinkumar, Dr.Mahesh Khanna SA, Dr.S.Dharini, Dr.K.K.Kavitha, and Dr.Jayaprakash Kuppusamy.
At the end of third day, the participants were addressed by Medical Director SVMCHRI, Dean SVMCHRI and NMC observer. Few of the participants also shared their experiences of this three days workshop. The certificates were distributed to all the participants and resource faculties. The program was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by MEU coordinator.
