Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy is functioning in two wings on the Ground floor of Administration Block. Wing – I (South) consists ofMuseum, Preparation room, Modeler room, Histology Laboratory, Histology preparation room, Demonstration room, Library, Research Lab, Non-teaching room and Male locker room.

Wing – II (North) consists of Female locker room, staff rooms,Dissection Hall, Embalming room, Cold storage and Faculties rooms & Cabin and office room.

To train students in Gross Anatomy, Micro Anatomy, Neuro Anatomy,Developmental Anatomy, Radiological Anatomy, Experimental Anatomy, Genetics and updating with recent advances in human sciences based on Curriculum Based Medical Education (CBME).

Participation in dissection cum discussion, Slide discussion, Museum specimen preparation and learning of the undergraduates, active participation in small group teaching, demonstration of gross structures emphasizing their clinical relevance and an insight to cell biology, cytology, basic structure of tissues and organs and basic genetics. Evaluation of tests, internal assessments and moderation of student symposia for all round development.

It involves teaching medical anatomy to undergraduate students, in order to understand the basis of health and disease and also to provide CBME curriculum with knowledge domain, the horizontal integration in the 1st year department of Basic Medical Sciences, students will acquire knowledge on Physiological and Biochemical aspects of body function.
