Basic Course in Medical Education program in SVMCH & RI

As per NMC Guidelines, and a part of Academic activity of Medical Education Unit, Basic Course in Medical Education Training  program was conducted in Academic Block, III Floor,  MEU Hall from 21-04-2025 to 23-04-2025. for 3rd time in our institution to enhance the knowledge of Teaching faculty

Totally 29 participants from both Pre & Para-clinical and Clinical departments of SVMCH and RI were trained for 3 days as per the recommendations and guidelines of NMC under the observership of Dr.Vasantha priyan, M.D  Associate Professor, Department of Microbi from Regional centre, Madurai Medical College, Madurai. 13 resource persons were taking class for all 3 days during the training program.

Program started on 21-04-2025  with inauguration. Welcome address was given by Prof. Dr.P.Sasikala, MEU Co-ordinator. Medical Director Prof.Dr.K.Prakasam, Dean In-charge Prof. Dr.Milind Butkar, Medical Superintendent Prof.Dr.P.V.Dhanapal addressed the gathering.

Program started with Ice breaking session on first day followed by Learning principles, Teaching Learning methods, Assessment and its types, AETCOM including its Role play done by participants, Self Directed Learning, Clinical & Practical Skill teaching, Aligning TLMs, Assessment planning in writing correct Essay/ MCQs, Writing a lesson plan, Academic growth & Networking, Aligning assessment to competency & TLM, Mentoring, Drafting schedule. All participants were actively made to interact with the resource person. Program ended on 3rd day with a Valedictory function with distribution of certificates to Participants and resource persons and with a group photo.
