White Coat Ceremony for the First year MBBS (2021 – 22) Students

White Coat Ceremony for the First year MBBS (2021 - 22) Students of Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital And Research Institute was held at Vivekananda Auditorium on 25-05-2022 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The function was presided over by our Honorable Chairman “Vidhya Rathna” Professor Dr. M. Karunanithi, B.Pharm., M.S., Ph.D. The Chief Guest “Dr. C. Palanivelu” Chairman and Secretary of GEM Hospitals and Parents were received with warm welcome by the reception committee on their arrival.The function began with the prayer song followed by lightening the kuthu vilakku by Chief Guest, and other dignitaries. The Dean Dr. A. Edwin Joe, MD., BL., welcomed the gatherings. The Madam Chairman Mrs. Krishnaveni Karunanithi, M.A. released the academic calendar of first MBBS which was received by the chief guest.  The White Coat Ceremony began with the unveiling of white coat by Our Honorable Chairman followed by distribution of white coat and stethoscope by Chief Guest to students. Professor Dr.Sasikala, MD., Department of Anatomy has read the Oath of White Coat Ceremony and the Oath was taken by students after adorning the coat and lighting of candles.

Respected Medical Director Professor Dr. K. Prakasam, MS (Ortho)., D.Ortho., D.sc(Hons)., introduced the speaker to the audience and delivered his special address. The chief guest during his address praised the chairman for his untiring service in the education field. And he expressed his desire to the students that they should bring global reputation to this institution with their hard work and sincerity.

The Honorable Chairman during his presidential address extended his greetings to the Students and thanked the parents for opting this College. The chairman was optimistic that the budding Doctors will keep up the culture and discipline of Swamy Vivekanandha Educational Institutions and to be a role model to the society.

The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Professor Dr.Dhanasekaran. M.D., Vice Principal of Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital and Research Institute.
